We joined the Haagan tori association; upcoming events

One of the purposes of Majavan tila osk is to foster relationships between the people in our neighbourhoods, particularly projects which grow the commons. We are therefore very happy to have joined the association Etelä-Haagan toriryhmä ry.
Etelä-Haagan toriryhmä ry
Etelä-Haagan toriryhmä helps people come together to organise local events in Haagan tori, one of the 8 market squares of Helsinki (according to the city’s own Torilla tavataan!).
Individuals, groups and businesses can join the association to participate in the events arranged in Haagan tori and to propose their own.
As a cooperative based in Haagan tori, we are exploring how to participate more in these activities and how to help their participants. If you are a seller or other provider in a Haagan tori event, please feel free to come use our facilities and tell us what you would need. If you have more ideas about what we should do, join us as a member!
Fillaripäivä
Our first joint event will be Fillaripäivä (Bicycle day) on Saturday 2025-04-05. It will be an opportunity to enter the new cycling season with a refreshed bike.
We will be joined by Helsinki pyöräpaja, the main project hosted in our spaces of Kauppalantie 22. Pyöräpaja will organise a komponenttikirpis (bike components flea market) like every spring. If you have some spare bike parts you do not use, or if you have a somewhat broken bike which you suspect is not worth fixing but still has some parts in a good shape, you will probably find someone to make good use of it. You may even end up with a fully functional bike at the end of the day!
There will be also a chance to purchase new parts and professional repair services from some of the local bike shops of Haaga, so you do not have to go far if you are not quite done getting everything you need for your bike.
There will probably be a chance to cook something vegan together: join us with your ingredients and recipes! We also received a proposal to organise a tasting of vegan sausages: if you like grilling, contact us.
In case of rain, the morning program will probably be cancelled, but the flea market will continue indoors in Kauppalantie 22 (Majavan tila and Pyöräpaja premises). Please park your bike in the Haagan tori parking lot or in our backyard’s street (Rinne).
See how to reach us by public transport. The train to Huopalahti or bus 40 are recommended to transport heavy loads.
